Hello. This is an exciting project. It requires a layering of paint finishes— a base coating and some layered highlighted shadows around the edges artistically applied. Here’s a link that should be helpful.

In a personal example here I transformed a thrifted gold frame to a pewter colored one with multiple layers on top of a silver spray painted finish. Clear coating between layers, black washes, fly specking and even using rubnbuff to help the metallic layering.
Exciting project. Best wishes
Good site above, but there will be one more step, lightly sandpaper the edges to show “wear” in natural locations. Or you could use an old gold on the edges and then go over with the darkening color. Once everything is perfect, finish with matte finish.
Hi Tena, there are various methods to use to accomplish what you want to do. Here's a link showing a couple of ways; you can paint your dresser the main color you want, then use either glaze or a wax to make the antique look. HOpe this inspires you. Have fun with your project!

When you do the sanding to wear and reveal the underlying paint color, you will want to use a sanding block rather than traditional sandpaper. So much easier.
this is a type of distressing where the bottom color is showing through after some sanding

You could use chalk paint and then use antique wax on the edges
