How to remove paint from brick?
I have a beautiful fireplace,it’s what sold me on the house. However someone painted it a barn red. I want the brick look back. How do I either remove the paint (short of sand blasting) or make it look like red brick again?

Heat gun might work. It's very labor intensive though, and probably won't remove all the paint. Should get over 90% off.
You need to determine what kind of paint was used. I would check with the most knowledgeable person in the paint department of the big-box store or go to a brand-name paint store for information. Depending on the paint it might be easier than you think... or maybe not!
