Did you strip the cabinet before staining? What kind of stain did you use, and what type of finish..... were both water based or oil based? therefore compatible.
The paint may be so thick it's going to takea little longer than 24 hours to dry. Be patient. It may take a day or two, depending on the humidity.
I agree with Alice- depending on the humidity- it can take more than 24 hours for paint to dry between layers.
Agree with Alice and Missy. Time is an important factor when staining with gel or regular stain. I used a gel stain, and I waited a couple of days before putting the second and third coat on, then a couple more days before the finish.
Did you prime them before painting? For some reason sounds like the paint did not adhere well. Go back to the place where you purchased the paint, maybe they could offer some advice. I'm stumped on this one.
