How do you dispose of old electronics? Can't imagine that they just get tossed in the garbage truck.

Paul M on Dec 12, 2011Well Walls Treat I think that is what most people do because they aren't thinking about the impact of the components of the equipment on the environment. I did find this for you and maybe it will help others as well: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Global-Promotions/Recycling-Electronics/pcmcat149900050025.c?id=pcmcat149900050025&DCMP=rdr0001422 You can recycle all of your electronic equipment at any Best Buy store.Helpful Reply

Dan's of Central Florida, Inc. on Dec 12, 2011Talk to your local company or city service that handles trash collection. Around here there are places run by the county where you can take them and drop them off for free (and I assume they then get recycled somehow). I'm sure you have something similar in your area.Helpful Reply

Harold M on Dec 12, 2011Don't want to throw in the regular dump. We have a place at our landfill where you can drop them off. They recycle the plastic. There is some nasty stuff in TV's and computer monitors (mercury etc) that harm the environment. Thanks for askingHelpful Reply

Kevin M. Veler, Law Office of on Dec 12, 2011Kass, I am with Yamini. Roswell and Alpharetta have bulk amensty days where you can drop off electronics at the recycling center. There is a fee for a TV I believe ($10) but it varies. I dropped off some broken exercise equipment last year. Smaller electronices like cell phones can be dropped off at places like Target and Staples. I have some old landline phones and chargers myself, DSL modems that I will dropping off when it comes up again.Helpful Reply

Nichter's Home Services Corp on Dec 12, 2011Our transfer station ( AKA Dump) has a separate area for these. There is silver, gold, and sometimes some hazmat material in need of recovery, so it is worth the recycle efforts. Some states require it.Helpful Reply

LandlightS on Dec 13, 2011Try the recycle center on Maxwell at Hembree Roads. With proper ID, (and I think they accept Alpharetta) they take electronics from Roswell residents at no charge. If there is a charge, I believe it is $10.00 for non Roswell residents. GaryHelpful Reply
