Replace your existing Recessed Lighting incandescent 65BR30 Flood lamp or the 15 Watt CFL lamp with a LED Retro Kit.
The LED Retro Kit fits almost every standard 6" housing (will not fit a shallow housing), uses an input of 0.127 AMPS/14 Watts, Color Temp 3000K (an incandescent lamps color temp is 2700K), and a lamp life of 50,000 maintenance free hours(averagelifeofan incandescent is 4000 hrs and a CFL of 10,000 hrs) . And best of all, it is dimmable to less that 10% (with a Lutron or Leviton Electronic Low Voltage Dimmer).
Simple installation, quiet, no RF interference and NO MERCURY. The retro kit I use comes from a major on line/catalog supplier of commercial lighting and cost in the neighborhood of $50.00

LandlightS on Jan 01, 2012yes...they can be used in any IC (insulation contact) or air tight rated housing from Halo, Cooper, Juno...even Commerical Electric (HDs private label trash). The kit replaces the existing trim also.
