Dan's of Central Florida, Inc. on Feb 18, 2012I'm not in the area, but I imagine that pretty much any charity/Goodwill type store will take them off your hands.Helpful Reply

3po3 on Feb 18, 2012Here are a couple of links for you: http://www.1304bikes.org/ http://www.durhambikecoop.org/ Bike co-ops are great community centers that provide space for us cyclists to fix our gear and for needy kids and others to get bikes for free or cheap.Helpful Reply

3po3 on Feb 18, 2012Did you check with the Durham Bike Coop. I know it's not super-convenient for you, but they should be able to fix it up.Helpful Reply

E.C. P on Feb 22, 2012Yes, I checked with the Durham Bike Coop...it is a good alternative but as you say not too convenient. However, I haven't found anything more convenient in the Raleigh area. Thanks for your help.Helpful Reply

James A on Feb 28, 2012If they have little rust, the wheels do not wobble from bad bearings, the tires are OK and will shift, then some old bikes are in demand. I have had luck selling them as "Classics" on Craigslist. Cobwebs, dust and flat tires (most go flat after a while) do not necessarily make it a "bad" bike. It's also a good/fun project to restore these bikes, plenty of info on UTube. Also, Craigslist has a "free" section".Helpful Reply
