Designs by BSB on Feb 19, 2012I didnt take notice that most every style I posted is painted perimeter cabinets! There is no denying it has been the hottest trend here in Atlanta! Whether you like wood or paint, the overall design style can be easily be stained wood too! My favorite? Love the bungalow. Casual yet still elegant. But I would NEED a wood island top!Helpful Reply

Teresa D on Feb 20, 2012Transitional, Traditional and Upscale Country! Like most though, I love them all. Nothing like a clean kitchen with lots of counter space and storage.Helpful Reply

K A on Feb 20, 2012Nice and open look but the lamps really over power the room. I noticed them before the room itself. :( Maybe one would work. The stools are OUTRAGEOUSLY GREAT!Helpful Reply

DIANA M on Feb 20, 2012I just found this site this morning...where have I been!!! I love the Transitional one best. Moved into my home 4 years ago and inherited a 24 year old kitchen desperate for renovation. I plan to paint the cabinets as well as add the detail work to the back and sides of the island. It won't be as gorgeous as this one, but will be a huge improvement!Helpful Reply

Freddie K on Feb 20, 2012I like the transitional. Looks like there is a nice flow into a dining room or living room with the upholstered bar chairs and the lamps. Love itHelpful Reply
-
-
Designs by BSB on Feb 20, 2012You are correct Freddie. While the lamps may look like an obstacle from this angle, the room is rather large. It is 22' wide x 19' feet deep (kitchen only) - but is adjoined by the same size room, which is the keeping room. Not to mention a breakfast nook off to the left! The lamps really help fill the space and even help give a little division between the rooms. This outer island is more for entertaining - the center island is the workhorse!Helpful Reply

Paticia G on May 15, 2012hanging pots and pans? not for me I had a pot rack( for decorative copper pots) over the stove in our kitchen I had to wash the grease off of them at least once a week - and cleaning that rack was a chore it does look nice, thoughHelpful Reply
-
-
KMS Woodworks on May 15, 2012my pot rack is over my sink...I wash then hang to dry...any drips go into the sink. Over the the sink is the "better" location compared to over the stove as the grease issues from cooking are minimized.Helpful Reply

Gail on Jan 09, 2015I'll probably get blasted by all of you... Being honest I'm not crazy about any of them.. not a fan of white cupboards (which most have and not a modern person) I like the cupboard style of the upscale country but also not a fan of stainless appliances.Helpful Reply

Hope53 on Jan 09, 2015I like the Upscale Country. It is not too simple, yet not as fancy as the traditional. It's more in the middle of the two. I'm looking at redoing my kitchen, and I started off thinking I wanted contemporary, but when I tried to picture myself working in the kitchen, I realized it was not me. So when I look at these kitchens I try to picture myself in these kitchens.Helpful Reply

Home on Hidden Oaks on Jan 20, 2015Ooo this is so tough, but I think I gotta go with Transitional. I do love the upscale country, and the cottage as well. I need at least 5 houses so I can decorate each one in a different style!Helpful Reply

Shelby @ The Weathered Barn Studio on Feb 19, 2015....the Upscale Country. I prefer a more " Farm House" look, and NO stainless steel appliances ! I prefer something that sort of ' blends' with the style...vintage stove, etc. ..I am not too sure about the ' cottage' one....looks more ' MODERN cottage' than real cottage kitchens I have seen. And I dont think those stools work, JMHO. lol.Helpful Reply

Tammy Ruzanske-Rietveld on Feb 28, 2015I have to go with The Bungalow kitchen. I really like the different finishes, I love the copper lights and the touches of colour make it more cottagey looking than your Cottage kitchen. Your Cottage kitchen is too clinical looking, too white and stark and no decor items. If the island were a different colour it might make it more cottagey!Helpful Reply

Terra Gazelle on Apr 12, 2015I really like the Modern Farmhouse, but do not have that as a choice. I think among the looks here I would choose Transitional. The Cottage does not look like cottage with the distressed pieces and comfort. It looks much to modern. They all look too slick. I like color and seems designers have got stuck on white.Helpful Reply

Terra Gazelle on Sep 06, 2016Why are white cabinets so popular? I like the Farmhouse look..but its not on the list. But if it were it would also have white cabinets..my grandmother had a farm..and a farm house kitchen..and there were no white cabinets..it was a huge dark wood table..mix matched chairs..long counters and a dresser for her table cloths and kitchen linens..an old cast iron single sink...basket of fresh eggs for her chickens..and scuffed old wood floors. With a pantry full of canned foods..and a freezer full of her breads and pies. That is what I call a Farmhouse Kitchen.Helpful Reply
