  • Bungalow and Upscale Country are my favorites, but I'd like that big Industrial stove in these Kitchens please!
  • 3po3 3po3 on Feb 18, 2012
I'd be thrilled to cook in any of these. I really like the look for the first one, the transitional, but I'm also a sucker for those hanging pot racks.
  • Miriam Illions Miriam Illions on Feb 18, 2012
Contemporary all the way! I wouldn't complain about any of them though :)
  • Lin R Lin R on Feb 18, 2012
Transitional is my favorite, but love all of them.
  • JP S JP S on Feb 19, 2012
I think they are all beautiful. I would choose the contemporary for my kitchen.
  • Deborah C Deborah C on Feb 19, 2012
It was difficult to chose, my favorite three are; transitional, cottage, and bungalow. They are all not only beautiful but functional as well. Cooking would be fun in any one of them.

    I like the cottage...but not in white. I'm a wood lover....not paint lover...LOL
  • Patty W Patty W on Feb 19, 2012
I like the cottage one best. Would like to have my kitchen look like that one.

I didnt take notice that most every style I posted is painted perimeter cabinets! There is no denying it has been the hottest trend here in Atlanta! Whether you like wood or paint, the overall design style can be easily be stained wood too! My favorite? Love the bungalow. Casual yet still elegant. But I would NEED a wood island top!
  • Pam R Pam R on Feb 19, 2012
It's a toss up between "Upscale Country" or "Traditional".

  • Becky Sue, Gary (Amazing Improvements) is a NARIAtlanta member. Remind me next time you are at a NARI meeting and I'll introduce you if you dont get together before then. My vote is for the contemporary myself. Although I like elements from many of the photos.
  • Teresa D Teresa D on Feb 20, 2012
Transitional, Traditional and Upscale Country! Like most though, I love them all. Nothing like a clean kitchen with lots of counter space and storage.
  • Sherrie S Sherrie S on Feb 20, 2012
I love the contemporary. What I really like is it doesn't look like a kitchen.
  • K A K A on Feb 20, 2012
Nice and open look but the lamps really over power the room. I noticed them before the room itself. :( Maybe one would work. The stools are OUTRAGEOUSLY GREAT!
  • Aida P Aida P on Feb 20, 2012
i love # 3 its so open and clean !!
  • Nora S Nora S on Feb 20, 2012

    Cottage.
  • DIANA M DIANA M on Feb 20, 2012
I just found this site this morning...where have I been!!! I love the Transitional one best. Moved into my home 4 years ago and inherited a 24 year old kitchen desperate for renovation. I plan to paint the cabinets as well as add the detail work to the back and sides of the island. It won't be as gorgeous as this one, but will be a huge improvement!
  • Tina S Tina S on Feb 20, 2012
    I like the Bungalow
  • Freddie K Freddie K on Feb 20, 2012
I like the transitional. Looks like there is a nice flow into a dining room or living room with the upholstered bar chairs and the lamps. Love it
  • Designs by BSB Designs by BSB on Feb 20, 2012
You are correct Freddie. While the lamps may look like an obstacle from this angle, the room is rather large. It is 22' wide x 19' feet deep (kitchen only) - but is adjoined by the same size room, which is the keeping room. Not to mention a breakfast nook off to the left! The lamps really help fill the space and even help give a little division between the rooms. This outer island is more for entertaining - the center island is the workhorse!

  • Paticia G Paticia G on May 15, 2012
hanging pots and pans? not for me I had a pot rack( for decorative copper pots) over the stove in our kitchen I had to wash the grease off of them at least once a week - and cleaning that rack was a chore it does look nice, though
  • KMS Woodworks KMS Woodworks on May 15, 2012
my pot rack is over my sink...I wash then hang to dry...any drips go into the sink. Over the the sink is the "better" location compared to over the stove as the grease issues from cooking are minimized.

    Upscale Country or Cottage
  • Donnis R Donnis R on Jul 06, 2014
I really like the lightness and comfortable look of both the cottage and upscale country.

  • Focal Point Hardware Focal Point Hardware on Jan 06, 2015
    All are really beautiful!!
  • Gail Gail on Jan 09, 2015
I'll probably get blasted by all of you... Being honest I'm not crazy about any of them.. not a fan of white cupboards (which most have and not a modern person) I like the cupboard style of the upscale country but also not a fan of stainless appliances.
  • Hope53 Hope53 on Jan 09, 2015
I like the Upscale Country. It is not too simple, yet not as fancy as the traditional. It's more in the middle of the two. I'm looking at redoing my kitchen, and I started off thinking I wanted contemporary, but when I tried to picture myself working in the kitchen, I realized it was not me. So when I look at these kitchens I try to picture myself in these kitchens.

Ooo this is so tough, but I think I gotta go with Transitional. I do love the upscale country, and the cottage as well. I need at least 5 houses so I can decorate each one in a different style!
  • Becky Becky on Jan 20, 2015
Transitional or upscale country, though I wouldn't want to clean all the nooks and crannies! :)
  • Marion Nesbitt Marion Nesbitt on Jan 21, 2015
Like the last pic which is unnamed.
  • Beth Beth on Jan 24, 2015
    cottage
  • ....the Upscale Country. I prefer a more " Farm House" look, and NO stainless steel appliances ! I prefer something that sort of ' blends' with the style...vintage stove, etc. ..I am not too sure about the ' cottage' one....looks more ' MODERN cottage' than real cottage kitchens I have seen. And I dont think those stools work, JMHO. lol.
  • Tammy Ruzanske-Rietveld Tammy Ruzanske-Rietveld on Feb 28, 2015
I have to go with The Bungalow kitchen. I really like the different finishes, I love the copper lights and the touches of colour make it more cottagey looking than your Cottage kitchen. Your Cottage kitchen is too clinical looking, too white and stark and no decor items. If the island were a different colour it might make it more cottagey!
  • Terra Gazelle Terra Gazelle on Apr 12, 2015
I really like the Modern Farmhouse, but do not have that as a choice. I think among the looks here I would choose Transitional. The Cottage does not look like cottage with the distressed pieces and comfort. It looks much to modern. They all look too slick. I like color and seems designers have got stuck on white.
  • Terra Gazelle Terra Gazelle on Apr 12, 2015
A cottage kitchen: http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/photos/0,,20573505,00.html Modern Farmhouse http://mapleandmagnolia.com/dreamy-farmhouse-kitchens/ I like stand alone pieces of furniture in a cottage kitchen or farmhouse kitchen. Hutches and dressers are wonderful.
  • Judy G Judy G on Apr 12, 2015
    Upscale country.
  • Mary Mary on Sep 22, 2015
I would take any one of the first six but I Love the upscale country if you switch the color scheme (go with the dark cherry or ebony cabinets and a lighter counter top that matches the walls)
  • Cmaillard Cmaillard on Jan 24, 2016
    Bungalow
  • Diana Deiley Diana Deiley on Feb 19, 2016
I love the lights in the Upscale Country kitchen, but I'm going with the Cottage kitchen. I would love one in my Florida home. I sure would appreciate having something new. At least I can dream.
  • Deltamom Deltamom on Feb 19, 2016
    Traditional
  • Terra Gazelle Terra Gazelle on Feb 21, 2016
Up scale country..but more farm house..and more color...some open shelves, a touch of primitive.

  • Patty Patty on Sep 05, 2016
Contemporary looks inviting, one you could spend the day sitting and talking with friends.
  • Terra Gazelle Terra Gazelle on Sep 06, 2016
Why are white cabinets so popular? I like the Farmhouse look..but its not on the list. But if it were it would also have white cabinets..my grandmother had a farm..and a farm house kitchen..and there were no white cabinets..it was a huge dark wood table..mix matched chairs..long counters and a dresser for her table cloths and kitchen linens..an old cast iron single sink...basket of fresh eggs for her chickens..and scuffed old wood floors. With a pantry full of canned foods..and a freezer full of her breads and pies. That is what I call a Farmhouse Kitchen.
