Shutter Cabinet Makeover

Hey there Hometalkers! Up for a little thrifty makeover today? My March Madness, 31 Thrifty Makeovers in 31 Days Series is in full swing over on my blog, and this is one of my favorites so far! I found this shutter cabinet for $8 at the thrift store just as it was being put out:
I snapped it right up knowing that paint would work wonders for this dated piece...

And it did!
This is DIY chalk paint in Behr's Pure White (see the link at the bottom to get my go-to DIY chalk paint recipe).
And the pretty plywood inside...
is now a pretty pop of blue! Watery by Sherwin Williams HGTV Home line (found at Lowes) to be exact.
Love the surprise color inside.
It got a new glass knob as well...
Perfect for all the bathroom necessities...
But could be used in any room of the house!
The rough plywood backing helped to give this pretty chippy look to the inside after sanding. This dated dud is now a coastal cutie!
Hope you enjoyed this makeover! To see all of my March Madness makeovers so far, hop on over to this post on my blog at the link below. I've included them all at he bottom. Have a great day! :D

So cute. I am in love with the coastal look. Perfect use. How did you mount it to wall?
