I love decorating with signs, probably because that is one of my favorite things to make. I purchased a small wreath awhile back and thought "This would be so cute as an O." So, I whipped up a sign. Then my friends started asking for signs...and buying the wreath was cost prohibitive, so I made them too! Now I have a completely customized sign.
For this project you need a board (12" W x 24" L), paint, wood stain, sandpaper/sander, and a miniature wreath. Exact products and more details can be found on the blog post.
After staining my board, I made a stencil with my craft cutter - no need for that pesky "O." I left space (extra space) for my wreath. You can see my exact measurements on the blog.
If you do not have a craft cutter, you can use store bought stencils or use this method of transfer (details on the blog) - use chalk or lead all over and then trace the letters.
Paint your board. I like 2 coats. let it dry completely. Remove your letters (craft cutter stencil method) and then sand it all over.
You will also need to make your wreath. Its super easy - grapevine wreath form, greenery and wire (wire cutters). FULL DETAILS: http://www.504main.com/2016/04/how-to-make-miniature-greenery-and.html
Make sure you have your wreath placed properly and using a strong glue (like E6000) glue the wreath to the board. Guess what you are done!
In very little time you can create a beautiful farmhouse style sign! And you can customize the colors and greenery to suit your taste! Be sure to visit the blog post - there are a lot more details and measurements that make creating this sign a breeze!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
I have never done anything like this before I am confused if you don't have the craft cutter how do I get the letters on there? I have printed ones from a printer in black but how/or what is the best way to get them on the board. Thanks!
what was the size of wood you used?
What size are your letters length and width? I don't have a fancy cutter lol
