Try this website. They have LOTS of repair parts for old lamps. http://www.antiquelampsupply.com/category/361_lamp-chimneys
Thanks, Carol!
Try Hobby Lobby, Hardware stores, and antique places.....don"t give up.
Its called the CHIMNEY part of the lamp.. Try to google that. An old style mom and pop hardware or if you live in an area where might still be a GRANGE STORE that caters to farmers.. Old funky junk stores ( ones that look like a deserted garage from the 30's) in small towns sometimes have treasure like that..
Check out www.lehmans.com/NonElectric/Amish. I know their stores carry them so I'm sure you can find them on the website. While there, browse around.....it's fascinating!
I got mine at the hardware store. It was not a big chain store. I agree that antique shops, resale shops, goodwill etc might also have them.
EBay...oil lamp chimney. Measure size where chimney attaches to lamp and then how tall you would like it to be and order/bid accordingl. Also make sure it is returnable in case it is not right.
You might try Aladdin. I'm sure they have a website. If it is an Aladdin lamp, hold on to it. They are worth keeping for emergencies, plus they are worth a lot now. You can still buy them today. The chimneys are really tall and skinny like you describe, but they put out a lot of light. http://www.aladdin-us.com
You live in Ohio so you may have some Amish Hardware stores somewhere in the area. They sell a lot of oil burning lamps and may have something. I haven't seen a Lemans catalog for years but such a thing would be right up their alley.
This is a common item at basic craft stores like Michael's, etc. - hope you find one!
They can be found at most second hand stores for around a dollar. Just remember to measure the lantern first, or better yet take the lamp with you. That way you will be sure and get the right size.
I had the same problem a couple of years back. I went to Goodwill (without the measurements) and bought one and lucky for me, it fit. Mine, like yours was an antique about 100 yrs old and I wanted to keep it. We use it at least 4 to 8 times a year because we live in a rural area that looses power during the winter. Good luck on your search.
