The Day After Thanksgiving

On this morning after Thanksgiving I found the following message in my inbox:
"May we always be embraced with the warmth of family, the laughter of friends, and the joyfulness that comes from each meeting with the spirit of Thanksgiving in our hearts."
Immediately I thought of a number of people that I know personally as well as my HT cyber-community.
And, when I told the entire cast of characters who were here for the holiday (the "folks" which I wrote about over a eries of five posts on HT), about the email, they agreed to pose for one last photo-op with my resident musician as well as Mr. Moon-In-The-Man, before they leave for the season, as I am checking in to see how you and yours spent your holiday.
They can be seen in the first image of today's entry and their ID is as follows:
In the upper left corner, atop the pencil cactus is my musician in residence, and directly in front of him is Claudia Crow.
To Claudia's immediate left is the pilgrim gal riding her pet turkey, and to their left is Claude Crow.
Mr. Moon-In-The-Man is directly to the left of Claude, and the pilgrim boy riding his pet turkey is left of Mr.-Moon-In-The-Man.
The Indian fraternal twins are in the front row.
Humpty Dumpty, Lady Falling Leaf and the Feathery Turkey Twins are all off camera, but they join me in spirit as we check in to see how you enjoyed your holiday.

We would all love to hear how you spent your holiday. As for me I had dear friends over in the evening, but in the morning I went to part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. It was much too cold and windy to see the entire event; however I do have some photo-ops to share with you and they can be seen in pictures two through thirty-four.
And I'll leave you with these images to ponder with the hope that you and yours had a blessed Thanksgiving!

April on Dec 07, 2013Yes, indeed! What a blessing you were able to see it and get photos. It's a shame you had to leave because it was so cold, but I can understand why. Especially with the wind blowing. It almost looks like the floats are about to tip over. ;) Thanks for the links! That's great! We did, too. Thank you! :)

TheLastLeafGardener on Dec 09, 2013@April Glad to hear you had a nice Thanksgiving. Re my having to leave the parade early I was sorry to do so but there was a long, long lag between the floats, bands and balloons, which was evidently caused by two accidents near the starting line of the parade which is slightly north of where I was viewing in it. And it turns out that the lag was due to two accidents: a) one of the women handling the Buzz Lightyear balloon had her foot run over by a golf cart that was traveling alongside it and b) Spiderman had his arm speared when he banged into a tree as a result of flying so low.** Evidently the accidents happened around 10:30 A.M; which is about the time I decided that it is possible to stay too long at the fair and I grabbed a cheddar dill scone from my local bakery and came home to thaw out before I prepared a Thanksgiving dinner for Victor and my editor. BTW, I have put my 2012 photo-ops of the Macy's Parade (I saw the entire event) on a Pinterest Board and you can see how much sturdier the balloons looked and how much higher they flew, especially since I took the images from the same vantage point. The link for the 2012 Board is http://www.pinterest.com/thellgardener/macys-2012-tgiving-day-parade/

April on Dec 09, 2013@TheLastLeafGardener - Thanks! :) Yikes! That's too bad about the accidents. I'm hoping all was resolved. I can understand why you'd leave early. Sounds like a good snack to "thaw out" with. I'm glad you had a good Thanksgiving. :) Wow, it must've been interesting seeing such giants! Your pictures give me a feeling of almost being there. :)
