Amazing Improvements and Garages on Jul 02, 2011I did Ludachris' basement a couple of years ago. Black faux painted walls and a black ceiling received a rich solid black epoxy flooring application. They brought in red furniture from Italy and some other red accents to bring the room together. It was really elegant once completed.Helpful Reply

Glad you like the transformation! TMW @Murals by Monti,@ Stacey, @Hector, @Miriam,@Wallstreat Studio-thanks guys...I am so happy Behr made their All in One Paint & Primer...it only took 2 coats to completely cover the black! That stuff is amazing! TMW @HudsonDesigns--Good question...I asked my client "what were you going through when you painted this bathroom?" lol...He thought it would be cool at the time, and once he started--unfortunately--he just kept going with the black paint. For the transformation he loved Crimson Red(Alabama fan) so I used the Crimson Red as my inspiration color for the room. TMWHelpful Reply

Atlanta Plumbing Plus on Jul 14, 2011This is a great illustration of what color can do for a room. I loved that you kept the original tile on the wall and floor and yet used other colors to make the room seem lighter, brighter and more fun and relaxing to be in. Great Work!Helpful Reply

Paul M on Jul 14, 2011Yes but even with good primer it took a couple of coats more than usual to make it all go away. Of course I was using a light color so it was not that easy to get it right. I did two coats of Kilz water based interior primer and then three coats of my paint color. It looked good when I was done but it was much more work than I thought it would be.Helpful Reply

Cheryl F on Jul 14, 2011Wow, Tonya - that was one DARK bathroom! It looks so much better, even though I'm sure it took several coats of primer and paint to get rid of the dark. I agree there are times when black adds a wonderful look, but this little bathroom was not a good candidate :) What you did looks much better.Helpful Reply

TonyaM Williams on Sep 11, 2011@Cas S ---I am VERY happy they DID NOT install a black toilet...the bathroom may have imploded at that point :-) @Julie U--The difference is amazing you can truly see how big the room IS now..with the black paint created a vacuum and made the room appear much smaller it also minimized some of the interesting design points like the checkered tile flooring. @Vicki @Donna--Thanks! @PreetiM--Thanks! The baseboards in this bathroom are fabulous the ceilings are 12 ft and the moldings are 9inches...it gives a lot of leeway for decor. @Nettie Reaves--Thanks! The devil was in the details! However once the black paint was gone the room totally opened up and we could really see the finish line for the project. @Judy D @Lynn Lewis @Roy W--Thank you I love projects where the difference in the before and after is like night and day! This one was also a lot of fun!Helpful Reply
