Built an above ground garden in our front yard.
*Options I considered for this project:
The above garden option is the only option we considered.
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
Some of the landscape timbers that we used to build the garden were bowed and we had to return those timbers for new ones.
* Cost Comments:
includes landscape timbers, wood stakes, 3" deck screws, 6" spax screws, top soil, garden soil, mira
*My motivation to do this project:
We wanted to grow fresh vegetables.
*Project Steps:
We measured the area we wanted to build the above ground gardens and bought the materials and built the above ground gardens. We then decided what we wanted to grow and bought the materials. We then filled the gardens and planted our veggies.
Advice:
Do your research on what grows well in the region and what doesn't do well in the region, and ask folks in the garden sections questions....what do they suggest to that grows well in the area, when is the best time to plant your garden, should I start seedlings inside and transplant them outside or can I just plant the seeds.
Materials:
All materials - $0.00

    Did you get this finished in time to grow some veggies this summer? How did they turn out? Nothing beats a homegrown tomato.
