Waterfall Desk: Before & After

Waterfall desks are so unique. They're on my short list of favorite styles. That curved top is beautiful, and the hardware is just classic.
This beauty was not always so pretty.
It entered my garage in rough shape, with chipped and warped veneer, missing two cup pulls, the finish on top was ruined, and the drawer slides needed some work.
I stripped and sanded the curved top to bare wood, and stained it with a blend of General Finishes Java and Georgian Cherry Gel Stain, followed by a protective top coat.
The existing hardware was moved down and I added four new knobs to the top. These knobs have gold/brass tones, so I added a touch of gold to the original cup pulls with Rub N Buff.
The paint color was inspired by the light blue in the drawer liners, from Rifle Paper Company. I have been dying to use this paper on the perfect piece of furniture - it is so pretty. I mixed my own custom paint color from a blend of Tavern Green, Soldier Blue, and Snow White, all from Old Fashioned Milk Paint Company.
