The little wall behind the door to our garage has looked lonely for some time. And instead of finding or creating some sort of art to hang there, I thought something with a bit more function would be nice. Enter the idea of a set of hooks and a shelf. I found a few different tutorials via Pinterest, and my husband and I modified them for our space and the materials we had on hand. One of my big objectives was to use up some of our scrap wood and leftover moulding, and I’m pleased to say we only needed to purchase the hooks and one board for the top shelf.
Here are the materials we used:
I did most of the build work on this myself (hurrah!), but my husband helped with some of the logistics, as we ran into a couple of issues along the way. But the results are fantastic, and so functional for our space, that I don't mind the little bit of headache. Problem-solving does the brain good, right?

Gianna Dias on Jul 18, 2016Looks great! Nice job! I'm working on one and ran into the exact same issues! Screws for hooks are too long and how am I gonna hang this darn thing!

Geraldine Rhoades on Jan 22, 2017I was thinking of using coat hooks as towel holders in my small bathroom but this is so much classier and adds some storage space too.
