I have noticed that on one side of my house the grass/ground is quite damp.

SawHorse Design Build on Nov 06, 2011It did just rain in the Atlanta area and since it is not hot that could explain the dampness. If you are worried about a pipe leaking, then you could check your meter against your last water bill to see if the usage is normal. OR just call a plumber.Helpful Reply

Hoffner Nursery & Landscaping on Nov 07, 2011Check the grading on the side yard, if there are raised areas holding back water when it rains this would cause the symptoms you are describing. I have been to many homes where a 5 inch hump is holding back hundreds of gallons of water, pooling water can seep into many unwanted placesHelpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Nov 07, 2011Grading, is one cause, another is shading. Sun exposure also has a lot to do with how dry one side of a house is as compared to another. As homes age, shrubs and trees grow changing the profile of the ground as well as the suns exposure. It may be time to do a bit of landscaping or tree trimming.Helpful Reply
