I was so excited when I found out I was selected to participate in this DIY challenge. I knew exactly what piece I would be making over with their paint. A french provincial nightstand I had just purchased for my daughter. I chose to use Aqueduct and their gel wax in clear.
To start I removed the hardware and cleaned it really well. I sanded the majority of the surfaces just so it would help the paint adhere better but with this kind of paint you do not have to sand.
I started with the top and made sure to have solid brush strokes in one direction. I used their Aqueduct color for the perfect teal.
Then I painted each side.
I added a second coat to the entire piece
Then I finished by sealing with their gel wax in clear. After letting the gel absorb into the paint I took an old white t-shirt and wiped the remaining gel off.
I finished it by adding a new knob pull. & I will be replacing the original drawer pulls as soon as I find some I love. I absolutely love the color and the way the wax gel was so easy to work with. Will be finishing her french provincial dresser with the left over paint soon!
