I did, and showed to my husband. The 48 curved pavers will cost a lot more than the $80 ($6/ea at Lowes in Alaska) Also the firebowl may not last a long time...we've seen it in Lowes too. So we are still brainstorming a more durable yet economical idea, realizing there may not be one.

Local rocks and a bag of mortar are pretty cheap. Ideally you want to use igneous rocks as they are more heat resistant and stable. I'm thinking about getting one of these for our ranch http://www.jamestownadvanced.com/ViewProduct.aspx?PartNum=11297-1
