so is it too late to prune my crepe myrtles and still get color this year?

Landscape Artistry, LLC on Mar 11, 2013Hi Mike. It is not too late to prune your Crape Myrtles this year. Even though you are in GA and I am in MD and your season starts a little earlier than mine, it is still a good time to prune them. They bloom on new wood. We have a customer that has them and we prune them back to the same size every spring and they bloom beautifully.Helpful Reply

Douglas Hunt on Mar 11, 2013Mine have just barely started to leaf out here in Florida. I'm sure you're behind me, so it's fine to do so now. Just remember that pruning should be light and for shape. Don't commit crepe murder.Helpful Reply
