Janet Pizaro on Nov 24, 2015Ive have never used them, however most paint stores sell samples of the colors. I would suggest trying them out first as color is very tricky with lighting and room size.Helpful Reply

Cornelia Schott on Nov 24, 2015I went back and forth with Silvermist and Comfort Gray SW 6205. I found both colors were perfect for my kitchen nook. I painted the area Comfort Gray. My friend has silver mist in her bedroom and likes it a lot. My accent color is SW Agreeable Gray 7029. I painted paper plates with color samples and moved each color around the room before making my final decision.Helpful Reply

CK on Nov 24, 2015Oh the stories I could tell from being asked questions like yours about paint ;-) The thing is, any color can be beautiful to the viewer. But its beauty is based on personal preference, how it looks in the room with all the other aspects in it (furniture, flooring, drapes, countertops, cabinets, etc.) as well as the natural and artificial light that's in the room. The same color can look gorgeous in one room and not so pretty in another. I've had people see rooms in my home and asked "What color is that?" only to find it didn't look anything like it on their own walls. Different lighting, different items in the room, etc all make a huge difference. Narrow down your paint choices. Buy a couple sample sizes of your favorites. Paint it on a large tagboard or foam board. The bigger the size of your "paint swatch" the better you can see how it'll look in your room. Look at them in YOUR light in your room. View them at different times of the day, different natural & artificial lighting conditions. THEN make your final choice. You can't tell really how a color will look either by painting it on the existing wall color because your eye is being 'fooled' into seeing something else due to the other existing color. Also, if you've seen colors on a website and loved them, chances are they look very different in person than on your computer or device monitor. Computer monitors just simply cannot give true rendition of paint colors.Helpful Reply

EmDirr @ DustandDoghair.com on Nov 25, 2015I've used and love Benjamin Moore's Oxford Grey... but it takes a different look on each side of the room depending on lighting. At seven dollars a pop, samples can get expensive… Why not upload your room photo and try their color visualizer first, then you can narrow the field a little before you buy sample pots?Helpful Reply

B. Enne on Nov 25, 2015I picked up paint chips of 1of those colours and other similar tones. We had narrowed down our choices and thought we really had picked the right colour based on light and different times of day, fabrics etc. We were shocked that our choice looked so grey. We have decided to live with it for now, but I wish I had splurged and bought a couple of samples. Be careful of colour matching as well. Many companies will colour match another paint brand, but the overall affect on a big scale can be drastically different, eventhough the newly mixed (and dried) paint seems to match the chip perfectly.Helpful Reply

Kylie M Interiors on Dec 21, 2015It's smart to ask questions re: paint colours as those wee little chips aren't very good portrayals of how the colour can look on a large scale! I've chatted about some of these colours on a blog post I did re: The Best Blue and Green Paint Colours, you might find some answers or maybe some new faves! http://www.kylieminteriors.ca/8-most-popular-blue-green-paint-colours-mix-sherwin-williams-and-benjamin-moore/ Hope that helps! ~KylieHelpful Reply
