bought used fridge, what are reccomended temps for freezer and fridge?

3po3 on Jan 16, 2012Every spot in the fridge should be between 34 and 40 degrees F. You can get a fridge thermometer to check the actual temperature against the setting. I would set it in different spots to make sure nothing freezes and no spot gets above 40. The freezer should be between 0 and 5 F.Helpful Reply

Ron C on Jan 17, 2012Thanks, exactly what I needed. My ice cubes are hollow, guess that is because the freezer temp is 12 degrees. I will lower temp and try again. Ron C.Helpful Reply

Ron C on Mar 13, 2012I emptied my ice bucket and added only cubes from a different ice maker. opened gate and ice cubes were still perfect after 2/3 days. The ice cubes in this refrig seem to have a chemical taste also... when I let the ice cubes make by themselves, they all get frozen together. I must have water coming from the ice maker, freezing the cubes together... I adjusted temp/air control to freezer and will see what difference that makes. RonHelpful Reply

3po3 on Mar 13, 2012Good luck. I'm curious what happens. If you still have a problem, you should post it as a new question. It will get more responses than this thread that is a couple of months old.Helpful Reply
