Coming down too. Can anyone suggest a fast fix, as I don't want to temporarily lose use of the bathroom.

It sounds like your ceiling has been effected by moisture or maybe it was never attached with enough fasteners. Sometimes a minor roof leak can wet the attic side of your bathroom ceiling causing sagging and tape coming loose. A drywall ceiling can be pushed up in order to add additional fasteners. You will need to hold the flat side of a 2x4 against the ceiling crosswise to the ceiling framework, then push upwards on the 2x4 with another board to raise the ceiling. If you use a 2x4 that is long enough to wedge the ceiling board to the floor it will hold the ceiling up while you add additional fasteners. After adding more screws, or nails, plaster repairs can be made. Warning; If you have an older home with some form of lath and plaster, instead of drywall, your ceiling will be very heavy and could fall down if it has come loose from it's backing. I would not advise homeowners to try to reattach this very heavy plaster covered concrete material. A lath and plaster ceiling can be covered with new drywall if it is not heavily damaged to avoid extensive costs of removing the old ceiling.

Thanks for getting back to me so fast. The house is 13 years old, so I am going to hope it is a leak in the roof as all of that would then be covered under my roofing warranty! I said this b4 - I want to bulldoze this place and start all over - just need to hit the lottery firts (lol).

If your home is just 13 years old it will be built with drywall. Good luck with the warranty.
