Problem window curtain

KatAych on Mar 21, 2016You can still do a long curtain on that one window - just "swag" it and tie it back on the 1/2 that's not over the counter.Helpful Reply

Susan on Mar 23, 2016All the above ideas are great; but how about adding a natural bamboo blind, under the above ideas. Or, you could attach fabric to a shade, or make a coordinating roman shade. If you have another kitchen window, you could make a valance too. You could tie in the natural bamboo blind, with coordinating baskets. This would add texture to your rooms. Or, if you are using sheer curtains in one room, you could add a pretty decorator fabric using the ideas above to the counter window and kitchen. It all doesn't have to match, but only coordinate! Or if you have purchased drapes that are a fabric with a design; purchase additional panels in the same fabric design, and make the above ideas. There are all kinds of roman shade hacks, fabric blind hacks, etc. on Hometalk that use iron on tape, and easy no sew ideas. You could also make accent pillows for the adjoining room; cushions for barstools; placemats for the countertop, if you use a diff. fabric for the counter window and kitchen windows (using the left over fabric drapery panels you purchase). You could also use leftover coordinating fabric to make a basket liner for your counter. I suggest you look at window treatment ideas on Hometalk for ideas and how to's. Also, google Better Homes and Garden magazine for window treatment ideas etc. P.S. Walmart, JoAnne's, and Hancock Fabrics have gorgeous, affordable decorating fabric. You can sign up to get coupons emailed to you from JoAnne's and Hancocks. Have fun and don't stress! I get a lot of decor ideas looking at magazines websites.Helpful Reply
