Designs by BSB on Apr 15, 2012There have been several interesting and insightful discussions about granite v.s. quartz. Overall, most people choose granite for its natural movement/beauty .. Quartz for tight patterns. Sinks - under mount has been the popular choice for cleaning the top surface, the negative is cleaning the small under edge. But alas, drop in has a caulk line at eye level and that too can be difficult to maintain/clean.Helpful Reply

Hewitt Remodeling Services LLC on Apr 19, 2012LaVonne, Granite or engineered stone/quartz is great looking and an excellent choice for high-end bathrooms and guest baths. But I am still a large fan of cultured marble with integrated sinks when it comes to high-use bathrooms for kids and the like. It is not your "mom's" cultured-marble of even a few years ago as the choice in colors/styles/patterns has been multiplied several times. It makes good sense and extremely cost-effective...so don't rule it out without checking it out.... TimHelpful Reply
