Double hung windows and alarm system

Some of our windows move during temperature changes. We have our system on chirp - not armed - but when the windows slip we hear the chirp. If the alarm had been on it would set it off. Windows are about 12 yrs. old. What can be done to fix this?

Carol, first, isn't that supposed to be a Braves logo? Also, it sounds like you are a candidate for replacement windows. It's not cheap, but it can save you tons of money on utility bills. My parents in Dallas (not far from the Rangers' ballpark) did this last year and saw an immediate improvement in comfort and energy bills.

Steve - GA is a temporary relo - will get back to TX as soon as we can! We loved going to Arlington Park. Braves are a good team too though. Windows are good - we also replaced all windows in the TX house - but these are OK. Could the tracks be tweaked to prevent slipping?

If the windows are latched they should not move enough to up set the sensor...if the latches have failed replacing only the latch can be done on the cheap.
