How ca I wrap arched garage door jambs?

My vinyl siding contractors says he will have to snip the metal to make it move with the curve of the arch. We both agree that will not look good.
Does anyone have experience wrapping arched garage door jambs wilh metal?

Cut the metal and let the notches be on inside. Cover them with one long flexi strip to create a boxed in look. Just a thought as I'm not a professional.
