How to clean the front sidewalk?

Anna on Aug 15, 2016I'd use a biodegradable soap, with a wetting agent. I live in the desert; the mud doesn't stay mud very long. It dries to a very fine powder and it takes a long time to soak up any water. Read some labels till you find the one that will solve your problem. You should be able to get assistance from the garden department supervisor at Home Depot or Lowe's. Another source of information on all things garden-related is the local University extension service. They have soil information and can identify most, if not all, the local plant life.Helpful Reply

Linda Wilson on Aug 15, 2016Keep in mind that people have been using "gray water" to water their gardens for a long time. Certainly, no one should be using high phosphorus cleaning agents. However, you could easily use vinegar, Dawn (the original blue,) Simple Green, any 7th Generator cleaner. Don't use Borax since although fairly safe, this will kill your plants. My all time favorite continues to be Biokleen All Purpose Super Concentrated Cleaner. ALL Biokleen products work and they are all safe and environmentally friendly. (biokleenhome.com) Use a hard scrub brush on the end of a handle and then rinse. Done.Helpful Reply

Norma on Aug 15, 2016Good old Clorox bleach poured on cement, brushed with a broom then washed off. Cement comes so much cleaner and does not damage surface or plantings including grass. Do wear old clothing in the event that you splash bleach on your shoes or pants when brushing down cement with broom. I do this every year and it really worksHelpful Reply
