Therese Ryan-Haas on Aug 26, 2013You might want to post a picture or find the real name for your edging. I am envisioning bricks at a angle but when I do a search for " Dog ear Edging" I get links on how to get rid of Mange, dog ear flap (pinna) and scabies. LOLHelpful Reply

Therese Ryan-Haas on Aug 27, 2013That is so much better. I love visuals. My idea would very much like Sia@south 47th. I can see enlarging a family name on a section or address and giving them to family and friends as gifts. Or a back drop to those photos that spell out your name with images.Helpful Reply

Patti Biggar on Aug 28, 2013What I did with mine, if you like the country look, is painted the work WELCOME, with one letter on each slate of wood. My was used, weathered, and looked good with some hand painted white. I will try and post a picture here, otherwise you can see it on my Gardens post on my site.Helpful Reply

Karen Robinson on Aug 28, 2013It would be neat to cut off the spike on the one piece and attach a picture of your kids and display this on a shelf or a mantle. Or to paint a Christmas scene or words on them and set them up on display. So many uses for these. Maybe paint your house number on them and attach them to your house or at the end of the front walkway so people can easily find your home.Helpful Reply

Lydia Whitehead Torres on Aug 28, 2013You could cut off the spikes and attach it to an old ugly picture frame or mirror. This would look cute especially if it is weathered or you could paint it. I've seen mirrors used in the garden, this would fit perfectly. Another idea would be to use it around a flower or window box.Helpful Reply

Anna Ballinger on Aug 28, 2013I would cut off the spikes, paint them, and put your house number on it. You can hang them vertically and attach to your mail box post and paint the number in glow in the dark paint. If you can't hang on your mailbox, put them in the ground around your mailbox with the numbers painted on it.Helpful Reply

Barbara Aragon on Aug 28, 2013How about making them into the sides of shallow trays to plant herbs in? Or to put on a holiday table in a rectangular shape (standing up) and arrange pinecones inside, or pebbles with tea lights, etc.Helpful Reply

JanB on Aug 28, 2013Leave the spikes and paint to look like a caterpillar. Put spikes in the ground so as to give the cat a humpback if possible. If not, paint up to make a fun garden sign. Or roll it up, stuff some dirt, mud, dried grass, mason bee sticks, pebbles and so on, to make it an insect hotel with an interesting spiral design. Be sure to put it under a roof to protect it from the rain.Helpful Reply
