Personally I would not cover up those beautiful windows. As for the sliding door consider verticals this way you will have light during the day and privacy for night time.
I have 2 sets of sliders on same wall, (condo) one we use one we do not, but I put long room darkening curtains that are thermal lined to keep heat in on curtain rods with 3 curtains on each, camel, brick red, camel over each door, we tie back the side that we use the doors and then untie when we want privacy or to darken to watch movies.
Solar shades are pricey but I love them! We have purchased some and made some. The shades we made are easy. We measured the window, added enough to make a pocket at the top and bottom of the shade cloth. We put spring rods in each pocket and pop them on the outside of the window seasonally. Like you would a storm window. It is perfect for windows that are stationary and windows we do not operate during the summer. Of course you can put the solar shade on the inside of the window but my preference is to keep solar gain from entering The house. Our maximum temps here in southern Utah can hit 114.
Consider using a cling film instead of drapes, it's easy to install, doesn't use glue so no mess when you are tired of it. It's available in several designs and also in different widths and lengths. I used it because I don't like mirrored doors and couldn't afford to replace four doors which are a custom size. I purchased it on amazon.com.

Have them tinted like car windows
We put the tinting on our windows to block out harmful sun rays and heat but not cover the window or block the beautiful Carolina Blue sky!! the tinting was somewhat easy to install, it just clings when you get it wet!! the windows that we had to use a ladder for were a little tricky, but we did it ourselves!!TIP- cut cardboard the size of windows to use to cut tint film, instead of trying to size it in window!!
Go buy some walking dead sower curtains and hang them up there
Goo gone will help with taking the tinting off as when ypu peel i off leaves back the sticky film.
YES! We just had some tinting taken off a window at our community clubhouse and replaced, due to damage from people taping decorations to the window and ripped the tinting!!
