My house is a light yellow vinyl siding. What color for doors/windows?
What color door and Windows would look good with that? Thank you.
Do you like color? You could go with a pretty shade of blue. Lavender would look awesome too. Then there is the ever popular red door. Or paint it white and dress up the entrance with lots of colorful plants and flowers.
A nice Royal Blue would be the most attractive.
My house is also light yellow. Like you, I initially had a plain white front door -- blah! I added a black frame full glass storm door, which was an improvement, but it still lacked something -- color!! So, I painted my front door red and added a season-appropriate wreath. Beautiful! It has been a few years, and I just repainted the front door a bright blue. I like it even more than the red!
Go to alside.com you can pick different styles homes and then pick colors to see what looks good.
My door had the same problem. My house is gray. So I painted my door a Burgundy. I added a wrought iron dragonfly door knocker that I got eight years prior. Took my husband that long to do that for me! Now I love my door!
I like the purple or blue hues to compliment they light yellow home.
Realtors suggest a 3 color combination for a house. Pick 3 similar hues and go for it!
My siding is a dark golden color and I used a darkish green with a strong yeloow undertone - think army green only a little brighter. it doesn't clash and it feels comfortable.
Before I saw lavender; I had the same thought. It's like two having the same view.Actually I'm looking at a house & thinking the same.Im sorry to say I would also change the brown to white to soften. Spray paint/Rustoleum. Good Luck, gotta go; have fun.
check out pintrest. Or...
I simply googled "Yellow house, black door" and hit images and got MANY great ideas. I saw a Steve Martin movie many years ago and they had a pale yellow house and black door and it made a huge impression on me. The first home I built I gave that combo and LOVED it. I'm not a huge fan of using the color wheeel outside because I identify color with seasons so the house would feel out dated certin times of the year. (My hang up, not yours) but check out the black door combo... its very sharp in my opinion. ; )
red would look awesome
