You can simply use it to border a garden space, but I would definitely use it as a bench out in the back garden.
How thick is it? I've seen people use stone pieces like this for door steps (outside). If you have the space to keep it whole and it would enhance the area-front or back. Just a thought.
You could use painted cinderblocks for the base and use it for potted plants on each end with seating in the middle. Have a stone mason come cut or break it for two smaller benches if you don't have room for a 10 foot long bench.
