What can we do with a Stone Mantel?

We recently removed our fireplace which included a 10 foot by 16 inch stone mantel. Any ideas of what to do with it? Seems a little long for a bench, but that's the only idea I have so far.
Thanks!

You can simply use it to border a garden space, but I would definitely use it as a bench out in the back garden.

A simple way would be to use concrete block; 2 courses high, by 2 wide, by 3 or 4 deep. I would use 4 sets to support the 10" stone.

How thick is it? I've seen people use stone pieces like this for door steps (outside). If you have the space to keep it whole and it would enhance the area-front or back. Just a thought.

You could use painted cinderblocks for the base and use it for potted plants on each end with seating in the middle. Have a stone mason come cut or break it for two smaller benches if you don't have room for a 10 foot long bench.
