What to put in this huge mason jar?
I have a HUGE mason jar. I would like some ideas on what to put in it for decorations, other than flowers.
I would suggest you look at Craig's list in your area to see what similar pieces are priced at. Where I am from, people want things for the cheapest they can get and no where near what it is truly worth. You could also look at consignment shops to see how they price pieces.
Also, check to see if there are any stamps on it that can lead you back to builder. You may be able to locate a site from them or someone trying to find matching pieces for their home. Look everywhere on the piece especially under drawers and remove drawers to see if they may have stamped it on the inside behind drawers. You might try going to a person that works in yor community with historic homes. If you don't have one try to locate the one closest to your home and speak with them.
My suggestion to you is if you think they have value have a professional appraiser from a antique shop.Looking on crags list will not give the the true value.
a professional appraiser is a good idea. But keep in mind that is you really want to sell it, you may not get anywhere near the appraised value. Some antique dealers will sell on commission, but will keep up to 50% of what they sell it for. still, this might be more than you can get selling it yourself.
Why dont you renovate it and use it? After all, it is a piece of your own history.
