  • I think depends on what you are making with the spoons. Are they going to be rings, bracelets, something else? I just googled "spoon bending tool" and they go from a simple looking set of pliers to a much more elaborate thing-a-ma-jig.

I guess it depends also how much you are willing to spend. There also ways to make homemade devices.

You can simply use a stable or suction Vice and let the equipment to the heavy work for you by holding untensil still as you bend it over, either with your hand or with another tool. Quick, simple and not too expensive. Also, for a quick simple and no cost...you could simply place the utensil on the edge of of a flat, sturdy surface, firmly hold down the handle with the palm of your hand at the edge of the table and the portion you want to bend... which is likely the upper third to quarter of utensil...and simply force it down with the weight of your other hand into the position of your choosing.

IF yo are just flattening the spoon portion: place the bowl of the spoon between 2 pieces of hardwood [maple/oak] & place between the jaws of a bench vise; turn the handle of the vise tighter to flatten the bowl to the flatness you desire. Bending the handle of the spoon can be done in the vise also by securing the spoon in the vise & carefully bending the spoon handle to the degree you desire, moving the handle's position in the vise or bending the handle over a rounded piece of wood [such as a piece of doweling].
