The first thing I would do is paint it to watch the house/background. Then maybe get some artificial vines and wrap them around it and climbing up the pipe
Good idea thanks for responding, Do you think I'd have to purchase special paint because it's plastic?
That sounds nice thanks. I'll keep you posted x
Perhaps you could build some kind of short planter around most of it and put in taller perennials that will help hide it or even put removable lattice around it and plant something viney around it. The suggestion to paint it to match the surrounding building is what I would do first no matter what. Just make sure to leave access to it in case you need to do any maintenance to the water tank.
I'm interested in painting it first although daunted with by prospect as I've never painted plastic before but looking forward to seeing the outcome. Many thanks for all ideas
Get a stencil or combo of stencils and spray paint. You could make it look like a giant flower pot or just a visually pleasing design. You could paint it to look like brick or stone and make it into a "wishing well". Or several pots of tall plants, bamboo, etc. to use as a screen. A folding screen of lattice to hide.... or a more sturdy wooden structure, perhaps on locking wheels so it can be moved as needed and you could hang potted plants, garden conversation pieces, etc. on it.
Paint the same color as the house.......it should disappear.
I had one, too. Not quite as large, but still - I got some heavy rope (you can stain it any colour) Start at the bottom, gluing as you go (I used the waterproof Gorilla glue) winding it around and around to completely cover the tank. When you are finished, paint it with a flat Varethane varnish. It will look like a large basket! Cut the bottom out of a suitably sized real basket and glue to the lid. add some styrofoam amd an artificial plant to the top (lid) and TA-DA - no one will know it is a tank! This works on ugly plastic planters, too.
Lowe's and Home Depot sell dog houses to cover things such as this tank.
Hi Eleanor what do you mean dog houses? (I live in England and hav never heard of Lowe's.
