You can buy Rust Remover in most hardware stores. Or the old standby, Coca Cola, might be worth a try.
Try using WD40 oil.
Salt, vinegar and water with #1 steel wool. scrub then rinse with water
Make a mixture of cream of tartar and lemon juice.
I sell a lot of old tools on Ebay. I've tried all the above. This is the only thing that worked.

You can use Navel Jelly rust remover found at home improvement centers and hardware stores. Just use a small paint brush to apply. Then wash off with water and use a very light coat of oil to protect . I have also seen that you can soak tools in vinegar and a little water for a couple hours then rinse off and clean or scrape with a wire brush.
