Z on Jan 28, 2014What a neat idea Naomi. I can think of two ways to get a quote on there, but I'm sure there are others. Cross stitch and stenciled.Helpful Reply

Judy Adams on Jan 28, 2014Stencil, or tape off the words you want ,with masking tape or a stick on stencil, and spray paint the words on the screen. In a color that will show up against the place where the screen will be hanging .light strokes and more than one coat. White wall ,any color but white will work . If the screen is metal not fiberglass you can use magnets on it . Put your saying on it in letters. Cut out from a magnetic sheet material ,and apply , test first to see if they will stick securely . If not put a thin sheet of metal behind the letters, on the back side of the screen.Helpful Reply

Susan C on Jan 29, 2014You could turn the screen on its side (longest side on top) Paint lightly with a dry brush a background color. If any holes get filed use a toothpick to open them up. Then either lay the screen over the saying or picture you wan to place on your screen trace with chalk then place on a dark background and again using a dry brush paint in the color. If you hang over a window the painting/saying won't appear until evenings. Attached is a screen painting that was done and is popular in the Baltimore area. You can still see through it.Helpful Reply

Linda Juratovic on Jan 30, 2014I have one like it, I white washed the wood and distressed the wood. I put lg. coffee hooks along the bottom and a few on each side. The top I put a few to strand necklaces on. I do like the idea of the stencil. May be something French. Just have fun with it.Helpful Reply
