I always suggest the outside window cleaner you attach to a hose you can get it at Lowes. Or hire a cleaning company they are about 10. to 20. dollars a window, it saves you the stress of doing it.
I used to open the windows, remove the screen and sit on the ledge to clean my outside windows. The hardest part is not scratching the glass. I'd let warm soapy water sit on it for a while. I used to hold an old diaper filled with the warm soapy water against the glass then gently rinse. If you can remove the screens, using an outside spray is a great idea, just be careful not to get too close so you don't scratch the glass. Use a gentle spray and, if possible add warm water to the sprayer. Mine is hooked up so that I can adjust the temperature of the water from the basement. If you have the same arrangement, the warm water will help. Once you get the works of the dirt off, make it sparkle by using vinegar water and drying with old newspaper.
Good luck!
I would use Vinegar/bleech for a true cleaning. J.
they wont come out perfect..especially if aluminum screens have etched the glass over timešBUT you will definately Improve them. Use the spray cleaner like P says first. Then use white vinegar and newspaper and lots of elbow grease. You can make your own no streak window cleanper using jet dry dw liquid in your windows cleaner
