Paint it to go with the furnishings you already own. I am an oddball and could care less what is hip, cool and trending - I do not have time or money to repaint every year. Any room will look beautiful, no matter the color if well appointed. Use what you have and enjoy!
When I am picking out a paint color I always pick ones that will flow with the other colors of my house. Then look and see if you want the room to be brighter (you will chose a lighter color then). Pick out some samples and hold them up at different times of the day to see how the light will hit it. After you have it narrowed down to a few colors I would purchase small samples, and paint larger spots on the wall. Keep checking the color through out the day to see if you still like how the light hits it.
Since you have to look at it, go with what makes you happiest, maybe pick up a color in the dishes or furniture you already own.
I guess I don't worry about what is in but what makes me feel good. I loved our chair cushions and picked one of the three colors on it. I loved it and I used one of the other colors as accent
Hello Redhead; Anytime that I am working with someone. I advise them to Please follow their gut instincts.
Please go to Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Etc. Choose any paint chips that you are attracted to.
Bring them home and lay them out. Look at the colors in both artificial lighting as well as sunlight.
Decide what colors make you Happy and which ones that you Love and Enjoy.
This is your Home. Make a statement and make it your own!!!!
