I am looking for non-vertical blind ideas for a patio door

We currently have vertical blinds on our patio door. Do. Not. Like. Them. We want something that will leave the window open to natural light, but offer privacy when the covering is closed.

We have bought a cloth patio curtain &love it! This opens &shuts so much easier than patio blinds.

At Home Depot/Lowes they have a film that frosts glass with different designs and textures, even stained glass looking films. Easy to apply and remove...check and see if that may be a look you like.

We replaced our vertical blinds with plantation shutters and love them so much. They also insulate against heat coming in as well as cold from the windows.

Roman shades are easy to make or if sewing isn't you're thing, Home Depot has them.

Tape some lace up and spray it with translucent window spray. Or use something with a design you like.

Put a cane or bamboo curtain above the door, It is easy to roll up and down and won't interfere with opening and closing door.

As mentioned previously, the window film works great! It lets in light, but is attractive and adds privacy. You can also use a product galled "Gallery Glass" which gives the look of stained glass - you can paint whatever design you like or just use the frost or clear one to sort of make the glass "fuzzy" for privacy reasons.

I'm with you on vertical blinds those should be outlawed. Silhouettes from hunter Douglas are like sheers and you control the light. Then of course there are shutters. Here's a few photo of some ideas
