Take the lid off and let the air dry it as much as possible and then put kitty litter in and put the lid back on

Paint an old board with many layers. When it dries, dispose of it.

Depending on the state that you live in, paint maybe considered hazardous waste, such as it is in California. If so, you cannot put it in the regular trash no matter how you prep it. You can however request a special pick up for hazardous waste items.

It is latex paint and it can be put in trash. Oil paint you cannot and has to be recycled.

You could also contact your local Habitat for Humanity or other recycler of paint, they might want your old paint! Otherwise try kitty litter or sometimes there's a special additive to dry out paint that you can buy at a Home Depot or that type of store.
