Not clear on what you want to know. Can you specify more?
The best thing for you to do is to go to a material store and ask for assistance. There are many different size needles (and eyes) for different materials and projects. Some packages come with an array of needles in different sizes.
It depends on what you are sewing. Also what is comfortable to hold. Most needles come in a variety package which will make your choice easier. Look for little needle sharpeners, usually decorative. My looks like a little strawberry. You just poke the needle in a few times. If you are struggling, just sharpen needle.
I agree with the previous comment. A package of assorted size needles will give you more options and you can figure out which one is best for you,
I wish I knew what was in the sharpeners. Feels like tiny, tiny bits of metal. Check it out.
PUT YOUR THREAD INTO A SMALL ALUMINN PAN WITH HOT WAX DIP THREAD INTO EASIER TO PUT INTO EYE OF NEEDLE IT WORKS EVERY TIME
Cheap needles have burrs that snag on thread causing it to shred and break. The shafts are not balanced or reinforced, which leads to bending and breaking. The points are not consistently sharp, which make pulling through the fabric more difficult.
Always purchase quality brand name hand sewing needles, and needles designed for the particular fabric or function of your project.
I have found that John James brand are superior to others in strength, durability, shaft smoothness, and longevity in the sharpness of the points.
