You can use them to store nails and screws, or even use as spice jars.
Some cute ideas here....https://www.buzzfeed.com/mikespohr/23-insanely-cool-things-you-can-do-with-baby-food-jars?utm_term=.mcA3b05Od#.vuLW8QKp5
They make good tight herb jars for when you dry fresh herbs. They make good dipping containers for kids fries, chicken strips, etc. You can use them to store glitter, sequins, all the small craft stuff. You can nail the top to the bottom of a shelf and store tacks, small nails, herbs, anything you can fit in it and just screw the jar onto the cap and save space in the cupboards.
Here's a bunch of images that might inspire you.

I use them in the garage to store nail, screws, picture hangers, etc. That way I don't have to dig through the tool box looking for the right size nail.
Use them for storage...buttons, office supplies, craft supplies, beads, hardware, spices, etc. Fill them with soil and plant small seedlings to use as gifts or decor. Fill with candy, tie a ribbon around the jar and give as Halloween gifts. Fill with candle wax and make your own homemade candles. Lots of fun things you can use them for!
If you have any cabinets in your garage, nail the inside of the lids under the bottom of the cabinets. Fill the jars with nails, tacks or any small items, and screw the jars onto the lids. (I just now noticed we have the same last name.)
Sorry Nancy, I just noticed your idea. Oh well, great minds think alike.
