How can I keep my area rug from wrinkling under my coffee table?

Hi Victoria, We have hardwoods in our house too. In the dining room we put a 12' X 6' wool rug under the table. I love it. We selected color/pattern to go along with the color scheme already in the room. The best advice I can give is to make sure your rug is appropriate size for the application. If you're putting a rug in your living room, it should be big enough so that the front legs of furniture are on the rug. Dining room should be at least 18" from the back of the chairs. The chairs should be on the rug at all times, whether the chair is in or out from under the table. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
We have area rugs. They are large but not high pile 9x 12 and smaller rugs for different purposes. We buy rugs for their purpose and look. How you juxtapose them can make all the difference and does the color provide the ambiance for your needs.
Heavy rugs usually do best. Lightweight rugs can move too easily. Always make sure to put a good quality rug pad underneath.
thank you
