I've worked with contact paper, I did all of my kitchen cabinets, 8 yrs ago, still up, and easy to clean. Backsplash why not? It's harder to put on a sheetrock wall, then on wood. The wood you can adjust it over and over, but with a wall, it's hard, the paper sticks quick. Take the sheet, open one end, and place it at the top. Slowly pull the sheet a little at a time, while smoothing it with a dry rag. Do this all the way down, and that should be it. I would spray the backsplash by the stove with furniture polish, so when you wipe grease off it will be easy. Repeat for the next time. Good Luck!

Contact paper backsplash? While not a backsplash, the counter tops here are on the same idea http://www.hometalk.com/search/posts?filter=contact%20paper%20backsplash
