You can buy a small tub of hydraulic cement at Home Depot. Need to mix and you put it on the holes and smooth it out. It is also waterproof. Did it on my basement walls. Give it a try
the family handiman said to use the foam stuff in a tube but be sure to
level it right away because when it hardens it becomes almost
impossible to remove.

Make sure you remove the paint as none of the concrete products will bond to the paint. Any remaining paint will contribute to later failures of the bond.
ARDEX - It's usually an additive to Portland cement. Just google it, you'll see it seals the cracks if they aren't too wide. We will use it on our outdoor porch in spring. Best thing I've seen yet. You mix it in a bucket and squeegie it on. Looks easy and dries fast.
I worked on the floating bridges of Washington state. To seal the walls we used this stuff called Vandex. It forms crystals when it gets wet. So after applying it, it will only get stronger. I also sealed the cracks of my basement foundation with it because the ground water was leaking in. It worked great. You need to be very careful when you apply it. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to the letter. Read the safety information. It's the best stuff.
Try using Bondo. It's normally used on automobiles. Works great for your project.
Hi Beth, You can fill wide cracks with concrete crack filler in a caulk tube. Then you can resurface the slab.
