I searched 'diy New Orleans street tiles' and the only thing I could find was the font that is used. Maybe you can explore these articles and one of them will tell you how to make them. https://www.google.com/search?q=new+orleans+street+tiles+font&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjAiOqUrefWAhWGQSYKHUbRBhEQ1QIIhgEoAQ&biw=1097&bih=551

Good luck!
I recently watched an episode of “Handcrafted” (on PBS) that actually featured the two artisans the City of New Orleans has contracted to replace the many broken street tile. Fascinating process . Obviously not what you will do, but you may want to check it out (possibly online?). Good luck.
there ARE TWO EASY WAYS TO DO IT.
1. LASER PRINT THE LETTERS YOU WANT, THEN , TRANSFER THESE PRINTED LETTERS TO THE TILE OR TILES.
2. BUY VINYL ALPHABET LETTERS OR CUT OUT LETTERS AND PASTE IT ON THE TILE AND THEN SEAL IT.
There are many instructions on Pintrest how to do these.
The full name is “Handcrafted America”. Host name is Jill Wagner And the episode is Season 2 Episode 16. I actually have it recorded and saved on my DVR for my mother to see when she visits as she LOVES New Orleans. Oops. Told you the wrong channel. It is on INSP (I have Dish TV). Just did a quick check on You Tube and actually found several videos of the episode.
Its was on Handcrafted America, Season 3 , Episode 3... Now on Amazon Prime video.... Official reporduction artist Mark Derbt of Derby Pottery and Tile in new orleans. WWW.derbypottery.com , or FB: derby.pottery.tile
