If you can't remove it, break the plate to save the pan. A hammer should work.
Try this: Put the pan in a container of hot water. Just enough to go about 3/4 of the way up the sides. Fill the plastic plate with Ice cubes. The heat should make the pan expand. The cold should should make the plate contract.
Good luck.
You could try putting them in the freezer. The cold should shrink the metal pan. Good Luck!
try running Very HOT water over the outside of the pot -- try to dislodge plate as the metal expands --
Heat/cold.....just like when stacked glasses are stuck. Or suction cups on the plate, then slowly turn the plate as pulling up, spin the plate out.
Maybe heat them in a low oven....should make the plastic soft enough to bend a bit to pull it out. Hot water may be enough heat, if it's hot enough.
Thank you. I broke the cheap plate and will do something with the plastic pieces....THANKS to ALL involved and HAGW
For anyone looking this up in 2020, my plate was an ikea kids plate, somewhat pliable. I used a knife to make space on the side, then used a paint can opener to make the space bigger. Now there should be enough space to fit the mouth of a wrench. Pull out the plate!
