I would think paint remover and wash real well , then use brasso or go to automotive store and ask them .
A citrus gel paint stripper would work. Sold at any of the big box stores.

i did a quick Google search for you, which I would suggest because it is a process. Most go with paint stripper, mineral spirits and a good cleaning and polishing.
That said, I would always do a trial in an inconspicuous area first.
Try checking with a company that does "soda" blasting... ask if it would remove the brass finish... if your brass bed is very ornate... this may be the answer for you, rather than hand stripping which requires PATIENCE
