Typically the lighter color goes on top. Lighter colors tend to make a room feel bigger.
I don't understand your question, but if your looking for one color, make it light.

Light colors are best for a small room. Just accent one wall with a few shades darker color.
If it's a small space, the worst thing to do is cut the walls in half! Take down any dividers (mouldings, etc) paint a light color on all four walls......will seem much bigger.
What about a nice light taupe or beige on top
Base you color on the size and lighting in the room.Darker should go on the bottom wall .
